# Why a coupon can fail on an eligible-looking basket

By The Coupon Queen · Published 19 October 2026

Diagnose country, platform, customer and product restrictions before changing your order.

A rejected code can mean the basket falls outside its terms. It does not by itself prove the offer has ended everywhere.

## Check the exact country and code

Choose the delivery country before applying a code. Compare the code string character by character. Do not convert an AED minimum into another currency unless that local condition is published.

## Check the customer and platform

Namshi FIRST is described as a first-order app offer. iHerb NEW20 has its own first-order conditions for the website or app. A separate app promotion may use another code. The offer record’s audience is more useful than a generic “works for everyone” claim.

## Check eligible items and caps

Remove an excluded product only if you still want to buy the remaining basket. A cap can explain why the discount appears smaller than the headline percentage. Delivery and taxes may sit outside the eligible subtotal.

## Record the actual result

Keep the country, platform, customer status, basket subtotal, discount line and date. Redact personal details. If you report a failure, include those conditions so the observation can be interpreted.
